Financial advice for retirement

Your parents’ pension paid them for life. Yours needs a plan.

Ayerman Wealth is a financial adviser specialising in retirement. Most of us won’t retire on a final salary pension, so what you live on depends on how your pension is invested, how much you take out and when. We help you get those decisions right, so your money lasts as long as you do.

Retirement used to look after itself.
Now it needs managing.

“I could be retired for thirty years. Will my money last?”

People are living longer, which means more years with no wage coming in. Your savings have to cover all of them, not just the first ten.

“Will my income keep up with prices?”

In work, a pay rise can soften a jump in bills. In retirement, every rise comes out of the same pot. Your plan has to allow for that from day one.

“How much should I take out, and when?”

Final salary pensions paid a guaranteed income for life. Most pensions now leave you to choose the investments, the withdrawals and the timing, even when markets are falling.

Of all the places people turn to when planning for retirement, financial advisers are the only source that most of the people using them rate as “very useful”.

How it works

  1. 1

    Talk it through

Tell us what you want retirement to look like and what’s worrying you. Bring rough figures if you have them.

  2. 2

    See what you can spend

We pull your pensions, savings and State Pension into one plan, and show you what you can afford each year and how long your money is likely to last.

  3. 3

    Stay on track

We agree a cash buffer and withdrawal plan for when markets fall, then review it regularly as markets, rules and your life change.

“People used to work their whole life and get a guaranteed income at the end. For most of us that’s gone. Now it comes down to how you invest and how you draw on your pension. That’s what I help with.”

Andrew specialises in retirement: helping people work out when they can stop, how to turn their pensions into an income, and how to keep that income going through whatever the markets do.

Questions before you book

How much does advice cost?

The first meeting is free. Ongoing advice starts from £[X], and you’ll get the exact cost in writing before any advice work starts.

Confirm the first meeting is free and add the real starting fee, once agreed with compliance.

Do I need to have a lot saved to get advice?

Not necessarily. If you have pensions you need to turn into an income, advice is worth considering. The first conversation is there to work out whether Ayerman Wealth can add value for you.

Confirm any minimum pot size Andrew works with.

I’ve already retired. Is it too late?

No. Many people come to us once they’ve started drawing their pension, often because they’re unsure whether they’re taking too much, or too little.

What happens in the first meeting?

It’s a conversation, not a sales pitch. We ask about your plans and your current pensions, explain how we work and what it costs, and you decide whether to go further.
